How Delivery Works at The Raphael
The Raphael runs a boutique guest-services operation — more personal than the chain Plaza hotels. Delivery coordinates through the front-desk/guest-services team rather than a separate bell-stand crew. We deliver ahead of your check-in; staff stages the scooter and hands it to you at arrival.
For Plaza Lights season or Plaza Art Fair weekends, coordinate your arrival window with us ahead of time so The Raphael can plan staging accordingly.
Accessibility at The Raphael
The property’s restoration preserved European-inspired period architecture while bringing accessibility to current ADA standards:
- Accessible main entrance
- Elevator to all guest floors
- Accessible rooms with roll-in showers and scooter-compatible layouts (limited number — book early for peak dates)
- Accessible seating at Chaz on the Plaza (the hotel’s signature restaurant)
- Accessible bar seating at the lobby-level cocktail lounge
- Valet parking with accessible options (self-park is limited; valet is standard)
The Raphael prioritizes a traditional European-boutique experience, which means some character spaces (the library, specific seating nooks) may have period furniture arrangements — but every essential space is fully accessible.
What’s Walkable From The Raphael
- Country Club Plaza shopping district — immediately across Ward Parkway
- J.C. Nichols Memorial Fountain — short roll into the Plaza
- Brush Creek — the waterway just south of the hotel, with walkable paths
- Nelson-Atkins Museum — short roll east
- Westport — short roll north
- KC Streetcar Plaza Extension — nearby
For visitors who want a Plaza stay with historic character and a less-corporate feel than the chain towers, The Raphael is a favorite.
