Tours we work with
Kansas City has become a serious leisure-group destination — barbecue itineraries, Negro Leagues and jazz heritage tours, WWI Museum and National Archives tours, Plaza shopping groups, Nelson-Atkins and regional arts tours, Royals and Chiefs weekends, and multi-generation family reunions built around Worlds of Fun and the Zoo. Motor coach tours move most of that volume; receptive agents, corporate incentive planners, and family reunion organizers move the rest.
The common thread: a group of 20-60 travelers, some percentage of whom would enjoy the itinerary considerably more with a mobility scooter. Some declare it during booking. Others realize it on the first morning, after a full day of walking plus a convention-center expo or a 2-mile Plaza loop. We build for both.
How we work with tour operators
Three main integration patterns:
- Link in booking confirmation. Your post-booking email includes a line about mobility scooter rentals with a link to our reservation page tagged with your tour's code. Passengers self-book; we coordinate delivery to your group hotel; we bill the passenger directly. Simplest setup, zero integration cost.
- Commissioned referral. For regular tour-operator partners, we offer standard commission on rentals we can attribute to your tour. We track via a unique tour code; we pay on a monthly reconciliation cycle. Useful if you'd like to recapture a small margin on ancillary bookings.
- Net-rate group quotes. For tour operators pre-purchasing scooter inventory as part of a packaged itinerary, we'll quote net rates on pre-committed unit blocks. Lets you bundle scooters into your itinerary price and retain margin at the inclusive rate.
Delivery and daily logistics
For motor coach tours, scooters deliver to the group's host hotel in the Kansas City metro. We coordinate with the property to stage the scooters at the bell stand ahead of group arrival; individual passengers pick them up at check-in. Our delivery window flexes to your motor coach arrival time, and we can handle staged arrivals if your group is splitting across multiple properties.
Each evening, the scooter stays with the passenger — typically charging in the guest room. If the itinerary involves an off-site dinner, a ball game, or an evening at the Power & Light District, the passenger rides along rather than needing a hotel-shuttle return. Pickup happens at departure; we collect from the bell stand the same morning your motor coach pulls out.
Day-of and passengers who change their mind
A meaningful percentage of group-tour scooter rentals are day-of decisions. A passenger walks the Nelson-Atkins on arrival day, realizes at dinner that tomorrow's Plaza-and-Crown-Center itinerary is going to be rough, and asks the tour director if there's an option. That conversation needs an answer inside of an hour. We keep inventory reserve for exactly this pattern during tour season. Your tour director calls us, we deliver next morning to the hotel bell stand, and the passenger walks onto the motor coach ready for the day.
Typical tour scenarios
- Senior motor coach tours — 40-55 passengers, 2-4 day KC stop, 4-8 scooters booked ahead and 1-2 day-of pickups during the stay.
- Family reunions — 20-80 family members, multi-generation, 2-4 scooters for grandparents and any aunts/uncles navigating Worlds of Fun, the Zoo, and Crown Center.
- Step-on step-off heritage tours — smaller groups on focused itineraries (Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, Jazz District, WWI Museum) where walking distances between interior exhibits add up fast.
- Corporate incentive trips — smaller high-touch groups where scooter availability is a quiet way to make a marginal guest feel welcomed into the full itinerary.
